Is your child preparing to move from home to a hostel for the first time?
Are they excited about the new chapter, but you’re worried about how they’ll manage on their
own?
Do they struggle with regulating emotions, organizing tasks, or staying focused on their work?
The transition from home to hostel is an exciting yet overwhelming time for teenagers. While they
look forward to new experiences, they may face challenges with independence, decision-making,
and handling responsibilities without parental guidance.
That’s why I designed a coaching program to equip teens in Hong Kong with the communication
skills, self-management tools, and emotional resilience needed to thrive in their new environment.
Through personalized coaching sessions, your teen will:
• Master essential executive functioning skills to stay organized, manage their time, and complete daily tasks efficiently.
• Develop emotional independence by learning to self-regulate and build resilience against stress and uncertainty.
• Strengthen their communication skills to express themselves confidently, build meaningful friendships, and advocate for their needs.
• Learn to manage and regulate emotions in high-pressure situations, making mature and balanced decisions.
• Overcome self-doubt and develop the confidence to face new challenges without feeling anxious or stuck.
I understand that every teenager is unique, which is why I offer a flexible program tailored to their needs. Together, we will:
✔ Co-create a personalized roadmap based on their personality, interests, and challenges.
✔ Focus on key areas that matter most to them, whether improving daily routines, emotional control, or social confidence.
✔ Move at a comfortable pace so they don’t feel overwhelmed or pressured.
This program highlights the importance of building a foundation for lifelong success as teens prepare for hostel life. With this, they will gain the tools and mindset to navigate this transition with confidence.

The number of sessions varies for each child. Typically, it takes about six months, with two sessions per month, to develop and practice executive functioning skills. However, this can change depending on the specific skills your teen needs to work on.
If you feel like you will require more guidance at the end of the program, please message Coach Shalini to discuss adding more sessions.
It’s best to enroll your child at least a year before they are due to leave for university. This gives them ample time to practice while still in a supportive environment, starting from their final school year.
It has been a challenging year for the students at the crossroads of what to pursue in the future. We wanted someone for our daughter to guide her through the decision-making process.
